Workshop: The Art of Age-ing….the Gift of Sage-ing |Sat, March 29

January 24, 2014

The Ethical Culture Society of Bergen County is pleased to present Pat Hoertdoerfer, CERTIFIED SAGE-ING® LEADER, who will present an all-day program on Saturday, March 29, 2014 from 9 am – 3 pm on The Art of Age-ing…The Gift of Sage-ing.

Youth is a gift of nature, but Age is a work of art.

Rev. Pat, MDiv, is a retired Unitarian Universalist minister and Ethical Culture Leader who has served liberal religious communities for 35 years.

She is one of 350+ certified Sage-ing Leaders in United States and Canada who has been trained in a new philosophy of aging developed by Rabbi Zalman Schachter-Shalomi, author of From Age-ing to Sage-ing©.

Her Sage-ing ministry combines education, spirituality, and creativity in programs that empower others to find their spirit and express it in their lives. A genuinely joyful and spirited person, Pat invites you to reflect on your doing and being in the second half of life through consideration of such topics as

  • Facing Four Frontiers in the Second Half of Life,
  • Images of Aging,
  • Aging as a Spiritual Journey,
  • Facing Mortality,
  • Navigating the Retirement Transition, and
  • Leaving a Legacy.

Workshop fee: $20 Unitarian Universalists and Ethical Culture members; $25 nonmembers.
Fee includes continental breakfast, lunch and Sage-ing® Resource Packet.
Please bring a snack or sweet for the Sharing Table!

Please send a check payable to The Ethical Culture Society and write “Sage-ing” in the memo. Please also include on the check your name, phone number (preferably mobile) and if you are a member of UU or Ethical Culture, your affiliation, and send to: Ethical Culture Society, 687 Larch Avenue, Teaneck, NJ 07666. (We will have the event on EventBrite soon.)
