Our Sunday School Curriculum for the Young Kids:
How do members of a community treat each other?
Children in kindergarten through 2nd graders explore what it means to belong to a community.
The aim of the class is to affirm the uniqueness of the individual while respecting the differences of others in a community. Students also learn to appreciate and care for our earth.
Some of the themes covered include:
- How do we as individuals affect a group?
- How do people work together in a community to do something big that they cannot do by themselves?
- How do communities help?
- What do different communities do?
Some project activities this group will engage in is a caring committee of children and community walking trips. As a service learning project the class will work with the Hackensack River Keeper to cleanup trash and other debris along the foot of the river.
