In September of 2015, the disturbing photo below right went viral. It shows a young victim of the mass Syrian refugee crisis and the Turkish police officer who found him. Although the picture captured the attention of many, the crisis continues.
In January 2018, our Ethical Culture Society helped to support the resettlement efforts of Syrian refugees who made it to this country by participating in a program called the Syria Supper Club. Below is a photo of the spectacular food they prepared! After enjoying the meal, we had a chance to sit together and hear, in person, about their struggles.
Now we are ready to do it again! Please let Janet Glass, [email protected], know if you’d like to attend this fundraiser, in which all proceeds go to the United Tastes of America’s Syria Supper Club charity.
