The students and staff of the Ethical Culture Sunday School hosted their annual Oxfam Hunger Banquet on Sunday, Nov. 24. Enthusiastically led by teacher Ben Bland, each participant played the role of a person from the high, middle, or low income strata of society to help understand the disparity of food access. This year, donations were bolstered by an Oxfam Thrift Shop provided by our Sunday School families. Shoppers paid what they wished. Their generous donations totaled over $200! These funds will be split between a North Jersey family in need and Oxfam, which will help Oxfam provide families around the world with livestock, seedlings, beehives, and the like along with training to assist them toward a self-sustaining path out of poverty. Additional donations can be made at oxfamamerica.org
