The Society is now accepting credit cards and electronic bank transfers for pledges and other donations. If you would like to pay the balance of your 2020 pledge with a credit card or bank transfer, email Administrative Director David Bland and he will set it up for you. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Dis-cover, and American Express.
Here’s how it works
- You’ll receive an invoice by email for your pledge payment(s). The email will have a “Pay Invoice” button that will take you directly to a payment screen. See screen shot below.
- Payments are handled securely and safely by Intuit, the makers of our accounting software, QuickBooks.
- Payments can be set up one time or we can bill you monthly, quarterly, or by some other period.
- We can set up the payment as an automatic, recurring charge on your card and set an end date so you don’t have to do anything after payments are set up.
Some questions you might have
Is there a fee for paying by credit card? Not to you, but to the Society. We pay 2.9% of the amount charged, so if you send $100, we get $97.10. Consider adjusting your pledge amount to cover this fee.
Does an electronic bank transfer cost less? Yes, electronic transfers cost 1%, up to a maximum of $10. As with credit cards, you do not pay the fee, the Society does.
What about the Donate button at ethicalfocus.org/donate? That still works but there is no way to indicate what it’s for when you make a payment. Nevertheless, it’s still the easiest way to make a donation on the fly, such as for a Sunday collection, so feel free to use it that way.
Can you send me a paper bill? Unfortunately, no, but the email will have an invoice attached that you can print out and save for your records.
Can I pay for things other than my pledge this way? Yes, but you’ll need to let the administrative director know ahead of time so he can send you an invoice.
Can I save my card so I don’t have to retype it each time? Yes
Can I still pay by check if I prefer? Yes
