I am most pleased to share some very good news. The call I put out in last month’s Focus has borne some very good fruit. I had mentioned that our Sanctuary program was in need of a host family for a potentially new client, a young man from Eritrea. Within two days of the call, I received an email from our members, Drs. Patrice Hassoun and Randa Hamadeh, offering their home and hospitality.
Members of the Sanctuary Committee met with the young man, and then with Patrice and Randa. We welcomed him into our program and they into their lovely home in Englewood. Because of Patrice’s and Randa’s engagement with our community, I am sure that Younis will often be present at our meetings. He is a very amiable fellow and my hope is that members will get to know him, and volunteer their time. A dinner at your home, a trip to a museum or finding odd jobs for him to do can all be on the agenda. Please contact me – [email protected] – for coordinating offers.
My personal thanks to Patrice and Randa for their very generous offer and for elevating the humanitarian commitments of our Ethical community.
