By Susan Lesh
We held our annual Spring Membership Meeting on May 19. We voted in our slate of candidates and heard the final full report from the Task Force; this report covered the yearlong survey and small-group discussion talk-backs. During this process, much data was gathered, which will be posted in a members-only section of our Web site.
Jim Norman, Building chair, talked about plans for restructuring the second floor to allow for a larger meeting space. This was precipitated by a request from our tenant, Rhymes and Reasons, to have a larger space to comply with regulations to qualify as a public school pre-K. Dr. Christopher Irving, superintendent of Teaneck Public Schools, has received a grant to allow free preschool for 3- and 4-year olds housed in leased community schools. Our restructuring plans will go to the Board of Education for approval shortly.
