Our community has found creative and invigorating ways to be together safely during the pandemic, when we are prevented from gathering at the meetinghouse. Several members have answered the invitation of our Social Affairs Committee, headed by Diane Koszarski, to lead a hike, a stroll, or other fun get-together. In March, Jamie Lombardi led a hike at Ramapo Reservation, Mary Matsui led mostly novice bird-watchers on a tour of the DeKorte Park bird sanctuary in the Meadowlands, and Diane put together a kite-flying party at the Overpeck Park Amphitheater meadow. Kite day inspired the poet in Diane: “We flew them high, we flew them low, we wished the wind had a bit more blow!”
