
The family of the late Amy Hausner are the newsiest members of our Society, having been inducted May 19. Here, daughter Carol introduces herself and her family, who live in central Vermont: Carol Hausner Sucher grew up in Teaneck, where the Hausner household was a hub of music, politics and working for peace. She is a singer, songwriter, and guitar and mandolin player. In addition to performing, she shares her music at community events and causes. She works for the Vermont Judiciary.

Jonathan Kaplan is a botanist and plant pathologist who is passionate about the environment and food. He teaches Botany and Sustainable Agriculture at Northern Vermont University. He loves teaching and the opportunity to educate his students on the ethical, ecological and social implications of their food choices. He is also an accomplished pianist.

Rachel Evelyn Sucher is a Vermont-assembled, Twin Cities-based poet and writer. Rachel is dedicated to equity, inclusion, and justice work, specifically through education, community engagement, and leadership development. Rachel loves the intersection of art and activism, and is an unconditional supporter of the Oxford comma.
As Amy Hausner’s family, we continue the family tradition of caring for those we share this world with and we are thrilled to become Ethical Culture Society members in her honor.
