Sunday Gathering: The Three R’s of History: Resistance, Respect, and Relevance

May 5 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm

History is often viewed as a static and never-ending timeline of events. Historians, however, often use history to compare and contrast how certain issues and events were addressed in relation to a current situation. Michael Lord, site director at Philipse Manor Hall State Historic Site in Yonkers, NY, will look at how issues of race, class, and gender in Colonial New York and New Jersey have shaped our perspective on the past.

This talk will be in the meetinghouse and on Zoom. The Zoom link will be in the weekly Focus newsletter and may be obtained by emailing [email protected].
