The Bergen County Sanctuary Committee, which our Society founded nine years ago, will celebrate its Annual Benefit Dinner on Saturday, March 8th at 6:00 pm at the Ethical Society. The purpose of the Dinner is to bring together our supporters and raise funds for the Sanctuary, virtually all of which support our worthy clients who have escaped political persecution and war.
Our guest spaker will be Ms. Jamie Gottlieb, Esq. an Associate of Lowenstein Sandler. Ms. Gottlieb was one of the four pro bono attorneys who worked tirelessly to win the asylum case, and therefore save the life, of one of our clients, who will be with us at the Dinner. Ms. Gottlieb will speak on “The Moral Commitments of a Major Law Firm: Political Asylum and Other Causes.” Music will be provided by our own Jaymie and Geb Zurburg.
There is no charge for the Dinner, though a donation to support the work of the Sanctuary Committee will be solicited.
