The Bergen County Sanctuary Committee is currently looking for a host family or a single male who is interested in taking in a young man from Eritrea. He is in his twenties, commands excellent English, and has applied for political asylum. His story is a very compelling one and he has excellent legal representation.
People hosting Sanctuary clients need to have a spare bedroom, and are asked to make a commitment of at least six months. Location near a bus line is highly desirable. Each host family receives a stipend of $200 per month and additional support from the Sanctuary Committee. Clients receive a stipend of $300 per month to help with their expenses.
If you are interested in providing this most worthy and rewarding support to a victim of persecution seeking a better life in the United States, or would like additional information, please contact Joe Chuman through the Ethical Culture office.
