“Today is Sunday,” I whispered to my three year old daughter as she got out of bed. “Sunday School! Today is Sunday School,” she exclaimed back, still half-asleep. This is when I knew how much the Ethical Culture Society had come to mean to our little family. Theresa and I have been attending the Sunday School Program for just over a year now. The Sunday School has given us a foundation of ethical teachings about kindness, community, and caring that we talk about all week. The teacher, Ms Sam, plans excellent lessons with fun activities each week. Theresa has made so many friends of all ages. As a person who came late to motherhood after a career in teaching, I, too, appreciate the friendships I have made at the Society. Truly, we were welcomed by this community. Through events like the Uganda Dinner, the Skills Auction and Hunger Banquet, we are connected to the world around us. We are grateful to have found the Ethical Culture Society.
