Our Society celebrated Ethical Education Sunday on April 29 to recognize the work of both students and teachers.
The Primary Class members have been using play, art and storytelling to explore ethical issues. The Elementary 1 class learned about various world cultures to teach respect and tolerance. The Elementary 2 class has been learning what it means to be helpful and to stick their necks out, like giraffes. The Junior Class presented what they learned about Conflict Resolution through art, games and research.
The Senior Class is studying the Rights, Respect, Responsibility curriculum. They also are preparing their Ethical Educa-tion projects for the graduation ceremonies on June 10 and June 17, when they will share the meaning of ethics in their lives.
As a whole, the students have been very active: making care packages to lift the spirits of members who cannot make it to platform regularly, experiencing the Oxfam Hunger Banquet fundraising for the orphans in Uganda, participating in both winter and spring festivals and regularly coming to Sunday School to learn how to live ethically.
So much is going on here at Sunday School, but none of this would be possible without the dedicated, hardworking and highly skilled teachers and assistants who give their best every week to ensure that the Sunday School operates successfully.
