Grant Writing Collaborative Aims to Help Ethical Nonprofits Do More

Grant money can be the key to reaching your nonprofit goals and to funding events that bring in like-minded others. Our Society is launching its Grant Writing Collaborative for the third year. These grant-writing training and teamwork sessions, via Zoom, start Wednesday, Sept. 11, 7:30-9pm Eastern time, and continue on the second Wednesday of the month through June. Here’s what you can expect from the Grant Writing Collaborative, directed by Society Leader Curt Collier:

  • Receive information on upcoming grants of interest
  • Share grant language and sample grant packages
  • Receive help on picking the right project
  • Join the pool working on collaborative grants
  • Receive help drafting a budget
  • Learn how event tiny organizations can have a big impact
  • Raise money to support your organization’s mission

We want to spread our success

We at the Ethical Culture Society draw upon our own grants success to help like-minded ethical nonprofits. In our Society alone, we have raised nearly $78,000 in three years to fund a variety of projects, including:

  • Summer youth job training programs for teens, including supporting 64 youth with training, OSHA certifications, and $31,600 in pay
  • STEM literacy programs for young adults
  • Community science projects
  • A study on creating sacred spaces on public lands
  • A speaker’s series on church/state separation
  • A pollinator teaching garden on our grounds
  • Several public events on tackling environmental pollution
  • Raising awareness of light pollution
  • Raising awareness of the youth mental health crisis and funding training for professionals
  • Raising awareness of food waste
  • Raising awareness of climate change and coastal flooding
