Sunday Gathering: ‘The Grand Design’

Our Society presents “The Grand Design” by playwright Susan Miller. In 1977, America launched the Voyager space probe that has now extended beyond the solar system. Attached to the probe is a “golden record” of sounds of Earth and people offering greetings in case some seafaring alien species were to find the satellite. In this short play, starring our very own Susan Lesh and Rob Eigenbrod, a scientist wrestles with creating a new message to send to distant stars. This effort is sent off track by his mother, who is on a journey of her own into the unknown. Discussion and reception to follow.
