This philosophical discussion group meets on the last Monday of the month, September through April. Topics are chosen at each meeting by the participants and the discussion is moderated by Richard Bernstein, founder of Socrates Cafe of Teaneck.
Socrates Cafe is a movement to bring philosophy outside the academic setting. It started in Montclair, NJ, to help those of us who are not professional philosophers develop our critical thinking skills by interacting respectfully and actively with others who share a love of ideas. There are hundreds of Socrates Cafes across the US, in the Americas, Europe, and Asia.
This Socrates Cafe is currently being held via Zoom. The Zoom link will be in the Weekly Announcements email to members and posted on the members-only Facebook page. In addition, everyone who RSVPs on Meetup will receive an email message to their Meetup address, shortly before the meeting time, containing the Zoom link.
