Skills Auction + Kids Party

Good fun, good food, and a good cause! Our annual fundraising and friend-raising Skills Auction returns after a three-year Covid hiatus. This year’s theme is “A Shakespearean Auction Reboot,” and costumes are encouraged. Doors open at 5:30 pm for sign-ups; auction starts at 6:30 pm. Open to members and their invited guests.
Kids Party, Too: We are offering a kids party for any families who want to attend the auction. The kids will have fun in the basement, where we will make animal masks and have a parade during the Skills Auction intermission.
At this Shakespeare-themed auction, the main inspiration for the mask-making will be Shakespeare’s play “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” in which a hapless would-be actor is given the head of a donkey by a mischievous fairy named Puck. The children will make their own animal masks and pretend that Puck has transformed them, too!
The kids party, organized by Anne Wallman, will start at 5:30pm so that the younger ones can be ready to go home early after the parade.
