Family & Friends Circle: NJ Leaves No Bite Behind–A Climate-Change Curriculum Focused on Food

October 8 @ 9:45 am - 10:45 am

New Jersey has been on the front line in sustainability efforts, and was the first state in the nation to mandate climate-change education for K-12 students. Rutgers University faculty have responded to this mandate by creating a curriculum that is responsive to educators’ needs, as well as empowering for young learners.

This talk by Jennifer Shukaitis, faculty member in the Department of Family and Community Health Sciences at Rutgers Cooperative Extension, will provide an overview of the curriculum and the actionable steps it offers to address climate change.
