Vance Gilbert at Ethical Brew Music and Coffee House

January 5, 2012

ETHICAL BREW presented Live In Concert, VANCE GILBERT

to a sold out audience Saturday, January 12, 2013

The proceeds from this concert are shared with The Bergen County Sanctuary Committee

VANCE GILBERT burst onto the singer/songwriter scene in the early 1990s when the buzz started spreading in the folk clubs of Boston about an ex-multicultural arts teacher who was knocking ‘em dead at open mikes. Word of the Philadelphia-area bred performer quickly spread to New York City. Then Shawn Colvin invited Gilbert to be a special quest on her Fat City national tour. Vance Gilbert took audiences across the country by storm.
Eight-accomplished albums later, Vance continues to refine his unlikely union of humor, virtuosity and the unexpected. Whether with classic, original songwriting, or ageless interpretations of covers, his is a presentation steeped in deep humanism and bravery, stunning artistry and soul, and contagious, unbridled joy – – inarguably the blue ribbons that tie and seal the seemingly impossible package that is VANCE GILBERT. www.vancegilbert.com

REVIEWS

“…the voice of an angel, the wit of a devil, and the guitar playing of a god…”
– Fort Worth Star-Telegram
“Gilbert took the stage, accompanied only by an acoustic guitar, a whimsical sense of humor, and an astonishingly smooth, pure tenor voice. But that proved to be more than enough.”
– Chicago Tribune
“His catchy, pop friendly melodies support keenly crafted, hard-hitting lyrics. His guitar is supple, his milk-warm tenor honest and gently acrobatic. He is that rare performer for whom people lean forward in their seats as eagerly between songs as they do during them.”

What We Do For Fun….

There's always time for play: celebrations, discussions (some in Spanish -- find Conversemos on our calendar on the fourth Tuesday of the month), hikes, picnics, cultural outings, and affinity groups like our monthly Men's Dinners and Women's Dinners.
