Who we are

About Our Program Director

Curt Collier is the Leader of the Ethical Culture Society. Having taught science at three universities, Collier eventually moved into community activism and revitalization. For the past 15 years he was the National Youth Programs Director for an environmental nonprofit during which he created career pathways for diverse outh with the National Park Service, US Fish and Wildlife Service and NASA. Collier is a frequent guest speaker on engaging diverse youth and has given presentations on how to encourage more youth to enter science fields including before the AAAS and Sigma Xi, the National Science Honor Society, NASA and a host of other organizations.

The Ethical Culture Society of Bergen County is part of the 150-year-old Ethical Culture movement. Ethical Culture central premise is that actions matter more than beliefs (Deeds Before Creeds) and that members should work to create a culture that elicits our best, not our worst. The Bergen Society was instrumental in desegregating housing, advancing social and political change, and furthering environmental protection.
