I did this very quickly. It’s a DRAFT, DRAFT, DRAFT.
A Landing Page we can do right now
Landing pages (sometimes called “Squeeze pages”) have nothing to distract the viewer from a single purpose: no menu, no sidebar.
Typically, they contain a pitch to buy something, funneled in from an ad. So we know what they want to buy because they clicked on our (pricey) ad. We don’t want to waste the visit, so we don’t distract them.
Landing pages do not have to be this sparse!
Probably it would be better to keep our branding. But this “template” already built into the ethicalfocus.org theme we’re using is pretty sparse. I would need to add custom code to turn it back into looking more like one of our regular pages.
But we can use pictures, our logo, etc.
We should use the EthicalFocus.org domain
EthicalBrew.org had to be different because Perry had lots going on and I couldn’t keep up with his requirements. (This was before we had Theresa’s help with posting stuff.) There are good reasons to keep all our initatives under one roof, like this: ethicalfocus.org/oneortwo-words
New domains for each effort has these disadvantages:
- Buying and caring for another domain is time consuming.
- Diffuses our brand.
- Confuses our members.
- Has no independent domain authority. No help from Google off the bat.
It can contain a contact form. That’s a bit more work, but not too bad.
We can use our familar branding if we like.
