Elementary class

Our Sunday School Curriculum for the Young Kids:
How do members of a community treat each other?

Children in kindergarten through 2nd graders explore what it means to belong to a community.

The aim of the class is to affirm the uniqueness of the individual while respecting the differences of others in a community. Students also learn to appreciate and care for our earth.

Some of the themes covered include:

  • How do we as individuals affect a group?
  • How do people work together in a community to do something big that they cannot do by themselves?
  • How do communities help?
  • What do different communities do?

Some project activities this group will engage in is a caring committee of children and community walking trips. As a service learning project the class will work with the Hackensack River Keeper to cleanup trash and other debris along the foot of the river.

  2. Registration begins on Sept 11, 2016 at 9:30 at the Meetinghouse, 687 Larch Ave in Teaneck. Sunday school classes run 11 am-12:15.
