The Bergen County Sanctuary Annual Benefit Dinner, held at the Ethical Culture Society building on March 7th, was a success that exceeded all expectations. Despite the fact that the gathering was somewhat smaller than last year’s, our guests and friends contributed close to $11,000! Donations pledged but still outstanding may bring the final tally to within striking distance of $12,000.
Many thanks to all those who made this happen: To our Sanctuary Board, which did the planning and set-up, and provided the dinner; to Ms Natalie Kraner, Esq., of Lowenstein Sandler, who gave a fine address on “Unaccompanied Minors” in need of political asylum; and to Jaymie Gerard and Geb Zurburg, who gave of their artistry for the third year in a row. All our current eight clients were with us and some spoke of their gratitude for the support we have been giving them.
But most of all, our heartfelt gratitude to our supporters, who, by their generosity, have expressed their understanding and appreciation for the moral import we are trying to express through the assistance we render to our most worthy clients.
Thank you all!
