Sunday school registration

Registration & Bagel Breakfast, Sun, Sept 11, starting at 9:30 am

Registration begins on Sept 11, 2016 at 9:30 at the Meetinghouse, 687 Larch Ave in Teaneck. Sunday school classes run from  11 am-12:15.

1. Ethics 4 Kids, Ages 2-4. Our Primary Class provides a safe, fun place where children will learn how they want to be treated and how to treat others. Veteran art teacher Samantha Stankiewicz will lead the children in stimulating arts and crafts projects, storytelling and play each week.

2. Giraffe Heroes Program for Kids, Grades K-2. This program will use the art of storytelling to move kids to “stick their necks out” for the common good. It is designed to bring forth kids’ innate courage and caring and their desire to be contributing members of their community. The program culminates in a social action project designed and carried out by the students.

3. An Introduction to World Religions for Kids, Grades 3-5. Children will explore different religious traditions and belief systems as an important expression of human existence. The class will include trips to different places of worship including a Muslim Mosque, Jewish Temple and Christian Church.

4. A Children’s Program on Ethics in Sports and Popular Culture, Grades 6-8. This course will explore how sports and popular culture shape our moral lives and moral issues in society. Students will explore the effect sports have on building character and on our societal views of women and racial ethnic groups. Also, the class will develop an ethical frame of reference to analyze movies, plays, music and other popular culture phenomena. Activities will include attending a local sporting and pop culture event.

Classes meet Sundays from September 11 through June 4, 11:00 am to 12:15 pm. Find more information about this and other children’s programs at our website http://ethicalfocus.org/ethical-kids/ or contact us at admin@ethicalfocus.org.
