The Ethical Culture Society of Bergen County hosted the AEU Membership Growth Conference on October 23 and 24. Ethical Culture members from a dozen Societies, some as far away as St. Louis, Asheville and Chicago, participated.
It began Friday night with a potluck dinner provided by the Blands, Wallmans, Gordons, Rosenblums, Caryl Gottlieb, Richard Zinn, Paulo Ribeiro, Janet Glass, Sabine Salandy, Eleanor Kasmir and Linda Bennett. Liz Collier presented a workshop, Practicing and Perfecting the Elevator Speech.
Saturday’s session was kicked off by Terri Karp and Emily Newman’s lively talk, Make your Society More Clickable. Following a catered lunch, three concurrent workshops were held on membership issues: First Impressions, Lasting Impressions and Learning from Conflict.
Out-of-town guests were hosted by Amy Baker and Paul Fine, Tracey and Peter Kelley, Ellen Mendelsohn, Linda Bennett, Ron and Lisa Schwartz and Liz Collier. Technical support was ably provided by David Bland and Paulo Ribeiro. Linda Bennett was the coordinating liaison.
We are most grateful for the contributions of our gracious members in helping to make our guests feel warmly welcomed.
